I like to create work that has an old world, weathered look and give it a contemporary feel. Someone once used the phrase "Modern Primitive" I guess that works. While some of my work is designed using perfect or new wood, I am always on the lookout for logs that have aged a bit out on the forest floor. I take material that shows visible signs of decay, rot or scars, then I remove what can't be saved and armor what remains, giving a chance at a new life. |
